Our Pack's traditional 3 year cycle for overnights calls for an overnight at the Battleship Cove this year, but the Pack Committee decided to switch it up and add a new overnight... a Rock Wall Gym overnight!
Our Pack will be renting the Central Rock Gym in Worcester MA for the night! Saturday night November 16 through Sunday morning, November 17th!
Rock wall climbing, Nerf wars, rope swings, dodge ball and more!
We need 15 parent volunteers to ‘belay’ for our climbers. 1:3 belayer to climber ratio required! Belay is the method of holding a rope system for a climber to catch them if they fall, and learn the knots required to tie into a rope end as a climber. This is required to use the high wall ‘top rope’ climbs without a staff or an experienced and certified climber. This is a great way to learn the basics so that you can enjoy roped climbing anytime on your own with just a day pass or climbing with friends, family or your kids. Belayers must be 13 years or older, and must complete a 45 minute Intro class, either before Nov 16th, or at 8pm on Nov 16. Pack 62 will cover the cost of the belay class. When you register for this event, indicate on the form if you are able to volunteer to belay. Arrive at 8pm. More info on the Intro to Belay class.
The staff will run games and activities, or climb and rappel until you can't any longer. We also have the choice to show a movie.
Get your sleeping bags, pillows and air mattresses ready!
