JUNE PACK MEETING: Rocket Launch!
Class B uniform. Model Rocket kits will be distributed at the May Pack meeting (or given to your den leader if you cannot make the meeting). Some assembly is required in advance of the launch, and we suggest that you assemble and decorate your scout's rocket well in advance of the launch, as rockets with wet paint or wet glue will not be able to launch. Paul Grous will be coordinating this year's rocket launch.
The following volunteers are needed to run the event:
Please contact Paul Grous if you are able to volunteer for one of these positions - chairperson@sudburypack62.org

The following volunteers are needed to run the event:
- 4 to 5 Wannabe Rocket Scientists - aka parents to prepare the rockets for launch, specifically, packing the rocket engines and parachutes. The kids don't get to handle the engines. If you ever wanted to be a rocket scientist, this is your opportunity! We had a good assembly line going last year. It's easy and we'll show the parent how to pack the engine on that day. Each rocket takes a few minutes to pack, so if 1 person does it, we'll be there all night. If a few folks kick in, we'll be able to get everyone's rocket fired within our launch window.
- 1 Launch Control Specialist - our launch control specialist will transport the rockets from the hanger to the launch pad, install the rocket to the controllers, and give the green light for the countdown to begin.
- 1 Registration Table - 1 person to accept rockets from the scouts as they arrive, ensure their name is on the rocket, and assign the rocket to a launch mission #.
Please contact Paul Grous if you are able to volunteer for one of these positions - chairperson@sudburypack62.org
